Are you interested in fingerstyle guitar? If yes please check out the video of my student Graham who has recorded his cover version of Unchained Melody by Righteous Brothers. Fingerstyle means that it is a solo guitar piece and it’s a combination of the chords and vocal melody. Fingerstyle is a great way of building your own repertoire especially if you are not a singer. It allows you to play as the whole band on just one guitar. Think about it like a pianist playing solo pieces or some popular songs without singing a word!
Graham has been my student since 2016. He used to come to me to my London studio before the pandemic. He lives in the Oxford area so having the Skype lessons was not a new thing to him even before the pandemic. I am now offering the guitar lessons in Epsom and Ewell but at the moment they are still held on-line due to the Covid.
If you are interested in learning fingerstyle please get in touch. It’s always great to consider improving your fingerpicking if you are into a singer-songwriter type of repertoire. I also believe that the rock’ blues and metal guys should be able to play fingerstyle because that way you don’t need to rely on your band.
